Scott Mackey | Financial Adviser | Legacy Capital Management

Scott Mackey

Financial AdviserCeMAPACSI

I have spent years advising clients across the full breadth of financial planning, from mortgages and family protection through to investments, retirement planning and estate planning.

I set up Legacy Capital Management to offer advice that is genuinely personal, built around each client’s life and circumstances rather than a one size fits all approach, and to be the kind of adviser people are happy to recommend to the people they care about.

About

My name is Scott Mackey and I am the founder of Legacy Capital Management, a St. James’s Place Partner Practice based in South Buckinghamshire. I work with clients across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, advising on everything from mortgages and family protection to investments, retirement and long term financial planning.

I started Legacy Capital Management because I believe financial advice works best when it is personal and built on trust. Too much of this industry talks in jargon and pushes products. I would rather take the time to understand what matters to someone, explain their options clearly, and be there for the long term.

My aim is simple: to keep building a Practice that people are glad they found, and happy to recommend to their friends, family and colleagues.

The clients I focus on

Over the years I have worked with a wide range of clients, but I focus on three groups in particular. Whatever the situation, my job is the same: to bring clarity, explain things in plain language, and build a plan that actually fits.

01

Families raising a child with additional needs

Who face financial planning questions that are genuinely different from anyone else’s: care that may need to continue for a lifetime, benefits that can be lost by accident, and decisions that have to hold up long after the parents have gone. This is personal for me as well as professional, which is why I have made it a specialism rather than an occasional case.

02

Business owners and landlords

Who need their personal and business finances to work together rather than pull against each other, and who have to keep making decisions against an ever-changing tax landscape. I run a business myself, so I understand the reality of it from the inside rather than only on paper.

03

Professionals

Who want their money properly organised without having to become experts in it themselves, and whose pensions, protection and savings have often built up in pieces across different employers. I spent years in that position before I became an Adviser, so I know how easily it slides down the list.

How I work with people

A first conversation is up to thirty minutes and there is nothing to prepare. I will ask a lot of questions and mostly listen, and by the end of it I will tell you honestly whether I can help.

If I can, we then take a deeper dive into what you are looking to do. I will explain every step along the way: what we are doing, why, and what it costs. If I can still help, I will make a recommendation. Nothing happens until you are ready.
