Financial adviser in Berkshire
We sit just over the county boundary in Stoke Poges, which makes Berkshire one of the areas we work in most. From Windsor and Ascot across to Wokingham and Reading, we advise on financial planning, mortgages and protection.
A short hop across the county line
Our office is in Stoke Poges, minutes from the Berkshire boundary, so much of east Berkshire is closer to us than parts of our own county. Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead and Bracknell are all an easy drive, and the M4 and the Elizabeth line put the rest of the county comfortably within reach.
Berkshire is a county of two halves financially. In the east, around Windsor and Ascot, property values and incomes are high, and the questions that follow are about larger mortgages, inheritance tax and how to draw an income from a substantial pension pot. Further west, around Wokingham and Reading, we see more of the technology and professional services world, with share schemes, bonuses and pensions from a string of former employers.
What runs through all of it is that a good many people here earn well and still have no real plan. Advice in Berkshire is often less about finding more money and more about making what is already there do something deliberate.

East Berkshire is a short drive from our office, and we are on video for anyone further west who would prefer the convenience of meeting remotely.
Some clients would rather we came to them, particularly for the first conversation and when there is paperwork to go through together. Others would rather keep it short and do it by video between meetings. We work either way, and most people end up with a mix of the two.
Questions we are asked locally
How far into Berkshire do you go?
All of it. Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead are on our doorstep, and we regularly work with clients around Wokingham, Bracknell and Reading. Where the drive is long we tend to do the shorter conversations by video and save the in-person meetings for the ones that need them.
Do you understand share schemes and bonuses?
Yes, and in this county it comes up constantly. Equity, options, deferred bonuses and pensions from several employers all need to be looked at together rather than one at a time, which is usually the first useful thing we do.
Are you connected to St. James’s Place?
Yes. We are a St. James’s Place Partner Practice, which means we advise on the St. James’s Place range of products and services alongside our mortgage advice.
